Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is Atlanta’s main airport, with domestic and international terminals and connections to MARTA, taxis, rideshares and shuttles.
For a Forest Park visit, it helps to know which terminal you need and where your onward ride picks up before you leave the airport. If you’re looking for a Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport shuttle, check the pickup details for your terminal before you travel.
- Terminals: Domestic Terminal and International Terminal, with concourses T and A through F.
- MARTA: Airport Station is inside the Domestic Terminal.
- Airport location: near Interstates 20, 75, 85 and 285.
ATL is approximately 20 minutes south of downtown Atlanta during normal traffic, according to the airport. Its airport transportation guide for Forest Park covers the onward journey in more detail.

Understanding ATL’s terminals and concourses
ATL has a Domestic Terminal, an International Terminal and concourses T and A through F. International passengers should check in at the International Terminal, while passengers flying within the United States should check in at the Domestic Terminal; confirm your specific requirements with your airline.
ATL says passengers can reach all concourses and gates from any security checkpoint. Checkpoint hours can change. The Domestic Terminal Main checkpoint is open 24 hours; Domestic North is open from 4:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Domestic Lower North from 3:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Domestic South is open from 4:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. International Terminal Departures standard screening is open from 4:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
For directions inside the airport, ATL’s interactive Wayfinder can search terminals, concourses, gates, restaurants, shops, services and passenger amenities. The airport also provides printable parking maps and an ADA and Special Services map.

Finding baggage claim and ground transportation
International arrivals to Atlanta proceed through immigration, collect checked baggage at one of seven carousels, clear customs and exit into the Arrivals hall. If you are connecting internationally and rechecking your bags, follow signs to the Concourse F Plane Train area or pedestrian walkway; both connect with concourses T and A through E and the Domestic Terminal.
At the Domestic Terminal, taxis pick up in Aisle A of the Ground Transportation Center, at stalls A3–A10. At the International Terminal, the taxi pickup is outside door A-1 on the Arrivals level.
ATL gives flat fares from the airport of $37.50 for one person to Downtown, $39.50 to Midtown and $49.50 to Buckhead. Each additional person costs $2, and those fares include a $1.50 airport usage fee.
Domestic Terminal rideshare pickup involves following the North baggage claim route to the lower-level escalators between doors LN1, then following orange signs to the North Economy lot.
Request your ride after reaching the pickup location. At the International Terminal, exit through door A1 or A2, cross the crosswalk and use the Arrivals-level outer curb. Uber, Lyft, HeRide and Boogidy are authorized providers.
Shared-ride pickup locations and service can vary by terminal. Domestic pickups use Aisle B of the New Ground Transportation Center; ATL advises contacting a provider in advance for International Terminal service. Some regional shuttles run every 30 minutes to an hour, while others require reservations, so arrange your ride ahead of time.

Connecting to MARTA
MARTA’s Airport Station is inside the Domestic Terminal, at the west end between the North and South baggage-claim areas. If you arrive at the International Terminal, ATL identifies the Plane Train and a free shuttle to the Domestic Terminal as ways to get there.
The terminal-to-terminal shuttle also connects the International Terminal with the Rental Car Center. ATL says these shuttles run approximately every 15 minutes. At the Domestic Terminal, go to the Ground Transportation Center/West Curb and doors W-1 or W-2. At the International Terminal, go to Arrivals and exit between doors A1 and A2.

Airport services to check before arrival
ATL’s ADA and Special Services map marks sensory rooms, service-animal relief areas, adult changing stations, wheelchair charging stations, nursing mothers rooms and TTY/TDD telephone locations. Use the Wayfinder to look up other passenger amenities, services, shops or restaurants.
If you plan to park, ATL publishes separate domestic and international parking maps and advises checking current lot availability before leaving for the airport. Checkpoint hours and some ground-transport details can change, so check the official site before you go.
Continuing from ATL to Forest Park
From ATL, the drive to Rodeway Inn is about 30 minutes. The airport is near Interstates 20, 75, 85 and 285. The hotel is in Forest Park, and the Forest Park neighborhood guide offers context for planning time in the area.
If you are arranging an airport pickup through a hotel, ATL directs passengers to the Domestic Terminal Ground Transportation Center/West Curb through doors W-1 or W-2. Confirm shuttle times directly with your hotel.
For limousine service, arrange the ride in advance. State-licensed limousine companies can drop passengers at the terminal curb, while airport pickups are restricted to authorized permitted companies.
